Cold water bass fishing is the most challenging and the most rewarding fishing of the year. Understanding Cold-Water Bass Behavior

Bass are cold-blooded — their body temperature matches the water. In cold water their metabolism drops dramatically. They require far fewer calories, strike far less often, and need much more time to digest meals. This means they will not chase fast-moving presentations, will refuse lures that look unnatural, and will position in very specific spots that maximize the small amount of energy they are willing to spend to eat.
